As we all are well aware by now, the COVID-19 outbreak has significantly impacted our ability to care for our patients in the traditional methods of dental care. This challenging time in our lives will met with both obstacles and opportunities and we are as dedicated as we have always been to our creative, considerate and comprehensive approach to doing dentistry differently.
Many of you are aware of the additional precautions that have already been in place at our facility to provide a level of care that other offices choose not to provide. We have invested in the health and safety of our patients and ourselves by implementing options for removing the aerosols created through dental procedures from the treatment area through air evacuation provided by the tubes that you see coming down from our ceiling in our treatment rooms. These supplemental suction devices are the key to us being able to keep everyone as healthy as possible during and after this crisis.
In the meantime, we are continuing to care for the emergency needs of our patients by emails and phone calls. We have dedicated our limited resources for high-level personal protective gear to patients who cannot wait for the office to reopen after recommendations are made that it is safe to do so. These patients are being seen during hours that the other offices in the 11 South Medical Building are closed so that the risk of virus transmission in the elevators, hallways and restrooms are greatly minimized.
Our dedication to providing the highest level of service to our patients continues to be our priority. Thankfully, we have systems in place that will allow us to continue to communicate with our patients if and when they need us. Our office email is HIPAA compliant and we are blessed to have Jamie monitoring incoming emails and calls. In addition, we are setting up virtual office hours so that patients can take advantage of the resources available to us through modern technology.
We are happy to introduce our new TELEDENTISTRY SOLUTIONS SERVICE
For patients who need advice on their options and would like to talk with Dr. Angie, we will be setting up virtual meetings that can be recorded for purposes of documentation. We will be asking everyone who wants to take advantage of this service to submit via email:
· A brief updated medical history to include questions pertaining to our current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic
· A picture of the affected area of concern (if possible)
· A questionnaire relating to the current symptoms in question
· Agreement to terms of in-office care (if needed)
Another service that we have available to our patients is a new frequently asked questions, references and resources page to use as a tool to help us all navigate through these challenging times.
In conclusion, we are aware that there is so much uncertainty during this period in our lives. We would like to provide you with the comfort that we are always here for you – even if there are obstacles in our way for the next few weeks to months.
We continue to be dedicated to your health, safety and wellness. Our decision to limit person to person contact in our office was made not only to protect our patients, but to serve our entire community as this pandemic affects the lives of so many. This decision affects us personally as several of our team members have conditions that compromise their ability to fight infections. It is also a very personal subject for Dr. Angie as she lost her dad several years ago to a simple infection that took his life because his immune system was compromised.
Being part of the solution for challenges is why our business is named Synergy Dental Solutions. We will continue to find solutions and care for our patients and community.
Teledentistry hours by appointment only
If you have facial swelling, severe pain or symptoms that you feel might get worse without treatment, you should contact us immediately
If a tooth is broken but not hurting, it not considered to be an emergency but might be something that you should get advice on through our Teledentistry Solutions Service
In most cases, a broken wire or bracket is not an emergency. If a bracket becomes loose and is bothering the gums or lips to the point of discomfort, you can take a small wire cutter or even a nail clipper to cut the wire next to the bracket. As always, orthodontic wax can be used to cover the area to prevent discomfort. If the appliance is removable and is causing discomfort, please carefully remove it and store in a safe place.
Through the use of HIPAA compliant email and the GoToMeeting online service, we are able to gather the needed information, store it in your patient chart and set up a virtual meeting for you and Dr. Angie to discuss your options . These meetings will be recorded for documentation purposes and can be used to show your insurance company (if applicable) the level of service that we provided to you.
Teledentistry appointments will be scheduled by contacting Jamie at wecare@wearesynergy.com. Payment for these services will be comparable to our normal office visit and consulation fees. Since we do not know if your insurance will reimburse teledentistry services, we will be asking you to reimburse the office directly and we will attempt to submit the claim to your insurance carrier. We can also provide you with a claim form that you can submit it to your carrier directly

This is a long form text area designed for your content that you can fill up with as many words as your heart desires. You can write articles, long mission statements, company policies, executive profiles, company awards/distinctions, office locations, shareholder reports, whitepapers, media mentions and other pieces of content that don’t fit into a shorter, more succinct space.
Articles – Good topics for articles include anything related to your company – recent changes to operations, the latest company softball game – or the industry you’re in. General business trends (think national and even international) are great article fodder, too.
Mission statements – You can tell a lot about a company by its mission statement. Don’t have one? Now might be a good time to create one and post it here. A good mission statement tells you what drives a company to do what it does.
Company policies – Are there company policies that are particularly important to your business? Perhaps your unlimited paternity/maternity leave policy has endeared you to employees across the company. This is a good place to talk about that.
Executive profiles – A company is only as strong as its executive leadership. This is a good place to show off who’s occupying the corner offices. Write a nice bio about each executive that includes what they do, how long they’ve been at it, and what got them to where they are.
This is a content preview space you can use to get your audience interested in what you have to say so they can’t wait to learn and read more. Pull out the most interesting detail that appears on the page and write it here.
